Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology (YCET) celebrated the 10th International Day of Yoga on June 21, 2024, under the theme “Yoga for Self and Society.” This celebration emphasized the transformative practice of yoga, which harmonizes the mind and body, balances thought and action, and unites restraint and fulfillment.

Originating from India, the word “yoga” means ‘to join or unite’ in Sanskrit, symbolizing the practice’s role in enhancing physical and mental well-being. The event saw enthusiastic participation from YCET’s management and staff, who engaged in various yoga asanas and pranayama exercises across the campus.

Er. K.R Sharma, speaking on the occasion, stressed the importance of yoga for maintaining a balanced lifestyle and effectively managing stress, especially in today’s fast-paced world

The farewell party “Ruksati-2k24” for the Batch of 2020-24 at Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology (YCET) was a vibrant and memorable event, marking the end of the academic journey for the 8th semester students. The farewell bash included a series of fun events such as Pictionary, musical chairs, and tongue twisters, which brought laughter and excitement to the attendees.
A significant highlight of “Ruksati-2k24” was the Ms. YCET and Mr. YCET contest. This competition allowed the outgoing students to showcase their talents, poise, and confidence as they walked the ramp, participated in a talent show, and faced a Q&A round. M/s Parmeet Kour and Mr. Priyanshu Sharma were crowned Ms. and Mr. YCET respectively, and were felicitated by Er. Vidhi S. Singh Jamwal (Chairman, JGEI) and Er. Renu Bangroo (Managing Director, JGEI).

YCET organized a session on “ENTREPRENEURSHIP SKILLS, ATTITUDE AND BEHAVIORAL DEVELOPMENT” in connection with IIC Activity.
The event was started with the welcome address by the student coordinator, IIC Cell Paras Sharma (2nd semester CSE). The resource person was Er. Divya Jammwal. Er. Divya Jamwal is working as a Coordinator of Management Department at IMS. She enlightened the audience about the characteristics and objectives of Entrepreneurship.
She explained in detail about marketing skills, social networks, and required dimensions of entrepreneur behavior by giving the examples of various real time entrepreneurs like Bhavish Aggarwal, Peyush Bansal, Falguni Nayar, Vandana Luthra,etc.

The lecture increased the length and breadth of knowledge. She said that there are three attributes to becoming a successful entrepreneur: Information, Attitude and Behavior. The audience really got enriched & benefitted by this interactive session.
The session was summed up with the memento ceremony, and the vote of thanks. The vote of thanks was given by student coordinator, IIC Cell Vikrant Singh (6th Sem CSE).
The event was well coordinated by the student coordinator, IIC Cell Umar Fareed Jaral (6th Sem Civil), who was the anchor for the day.

YCET Conducted National Workshop by IIT Bombay
Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology [YCET] organized the National Workshop on “Awareness of Spoken Tutorial, IIT Bombay and career prospects”.
The event was graced by the presence of Mrs. Akanksha Saini, National Cordinator, Spoken tutorial, IIT Bombay. Various Institutes were invited for the workshop among them were IMS, UIET, MBSCET etc. The faculty members and students from these institutes witnessed the occasion.
Mrs. Akanksha Saini National Cordinator, Spoken tutorial, IIT Bombay graced the stage and addressed the audience. She quoted Nelson Mandela’s saying “Education is the most powerful weapon which can be used to change the world”. She further added that our world is changing rapidly, it is essential to move ahead with that pace for that we have to think outside the box. One should work as part of a team while having ability to solve problems, having good people in skills and critical thinking. She gave detailed presentation on 21st century learning design and revealed that spoken tutorial IIT, Bombay is offering 75 courses and had trained 80 lakh people across the country in 22 recognized languages. At the end she summed up by giving insights by showing rainbow arch and support system.

Loveneesh Talwar HOD Electrical department, YCET has been invited as a keynote speaker to deliver Online Expert talk on Role of Energy Managers to Conserve Energy for future Generation which was organized by Department of Electrical, School of Engineering & Technology, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir.

He delivered a talk on Conservation of Energy Electric energy occupies the top grade in the energy hierarchy. It finds innumerable uses in home, industry, agriculture and in transport. In his webinar he also emphasized on Energy audit. An energy audit is an inspection survey and an analysis of energy flows for energy conservation in a building. It may include a process or system to reduce the amount of energy input into the system without negatively affecting the output. Energy conservation is the effort made to reduce the consumption of energy by using less of an energy service. This can be achieved either by using energy more efficiently or by reducing the amount of service used. Energy conservation is a part of the concept of Eco-sufficiency.

In the end, Er. Lovneesh Talwar thanks Er. Shafqat Nabi Mughal , Head of Department, Prof. Asif Husain, Dean and Principal, School of Engineering & Technology, BGSBU and Ms. Ankita Runani, Coordinator for inviting him for giving him the opportunity to deliver a guest lecture. Er. Dinesh Gupta, Dean Academics of Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology (YCET) has been invited by ST. JOSEPH UNIVERSITY NAGALAND to conduct a session on “Innovation and Entrepreneurship”. This activity was conducted under IIC Driven Activity which is under Institutions Innovation Council- A MHRD Govt of India Initiative.

Session was started with the Innovation, Difference between Invention and Innovation, Principles of Successful Innovation, Techniques of Innovation. During the lecture, he also explained the Importance of Entrepreneurship- it Reduces Poverty Level, Increases Employment, Fulfills the Demand of people and Helps to develop Economic Condition of a country. He emphasized on the concept of job givers rather than job seekers.

He told that there is no dearth of start-ups that work on a brilliant idea with a huge scope of scaling. However, these companies have little knowledge about management, and therefore, burn cash rapidly. Business incubators help the start-ups to manage finances and ensure proper utilization of the money. Managing a business at a very local level play a significant role in making the foundation strong and scale it. Business incubators essentially perform the same function. There are various business incubators that target businesses that want to establish themselves formally in the market. Such businesses with great growth potential might require various types of support such as planning, training and development, research support and so on.

At the end, Er. Dinesh Gupta thanked Dr. M, Selladurai organizer of the session and management of ST.
