The Visit was organized by the Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology to , “Sewage treatment plant and E-BUS Yard, Jammu,” for 6th,4th and 2nd semesters students of Civil Engg, Electrical Engg, Mechanical Engg and Computer Science & Engineering. During the visit Mr.Vinod Kumar, Plant Incharge, along with his team interacted with the faculty and students and described the working of Sewage treatment plant processes and also the functioning of various units like Preliminary Treatment etc.

Industrial Visit at CIIIT ,Jammu

Industrial visit to CIIIT,Jammu was conducted by ycet.all branches and all semesters of, civil,electrical, mechanical and cse students were part of the visit.they got first hand knowledge about mechatronics, IOT,E vehicles, its assembly,its testing.Role of robot’s. Cnc machine.etc.Ms heena gupta,lecturer gave powerpoint presentation about Jammu smart city six resolutions to make jammu city smart and resilient. The important areas which are to be improved by using iot like 1.smart grid,2.smart education,3.smart water meter,4
Smart governance,5.smart health care and 6.smart transportation.The visit was very informative and knowledgeable. The faculty accompanied were Er.Rajnish Magotra, Er.loveneesh Talwar,Er.Anshu sharma and Er.Inderdeep singh.Ycet thanked Prof.Talat hussain,pri cipal ,Govt polytechnic for granting permission to visit CIIIT,Jammu.

Industrial Visit By the Students of Electrical and Computer Engg.

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering , Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology ( YCET ) organized an Industrial visit at Centre for Invention, Innovation, Incubation & Training ( CIIIT),Jammu which has been established by Tata Technologies Ltd, Pune at Government Polytechnic , Jammu to impart training in the latest trends of Manufacturing Technology , Electric Hybrid Vehicles. The prime aim and objective of the visit was to enrich the Knowledge & exposure to the world of work .The training is a cross- disciplinary , where designers & the curious can explore and pursue their interest in the modern world, develop personal projects and start collaborative projects.

Er Loveneesh Talwar, HOD (Electrical Engineering Department, YCET) and Er. Anupreet, HOD ( Computer Engineering, Department) briefed about the latest technologies established at CIIIT with the aim of up-skilling & enhancing employability of Engineering students to the latest trends by imparting skill training on the latest technologies with the help of faculty from TATA Technologies that will certainly bridge the gap between Industry and Academia.

Er. Anshu Sharma, Assistant Professor, Computer Engg. Department also accompanied the students during the visit. The session ended with fruitful discussions and comprehensive exposure with Industry experts.

The Visit was made possible because of the dedication and able guidance of Er. Arun Bagotra, Principal Govt. Polytechnic, Jammu. Er. Rishab (TATA Technologies, CIIIT) who also stressed the need of skill generation among the budding engineers. The students were enriched by this visit.

YCET organized the industrial visit to SCADA Centre JPDCL

Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology (YCET) organize the industrial visit to SCADA Centre JPDCL, Ambadkar Chowk, Jammu for the students of 8th Sem Electrical Engineering here today.
SCADA system continuously monitors the status of various equipments in substation and accordingly sends control signals to the remote control equipments. Also, it collects the historical data of the substation and generates the alarms in the event of electrical accidents or faults. During the visit the students were briefed about the functioning of SCADA System Students had an intensive interaction with Er. Vikramjeet Singh, Assistant Executive Engineer JPDCL. Er. Er. Sachin kalgotra , Junior Engineer JPDCL explain the students about the functions performed by SCADA components, Sensors and control relays that directly interface with the managed system, Remote telemetry units (RTUs), SCADA master units, The communications network that connects the SCADA master unit to the RTUs in the field.
The industrial visit was an amazing experience, provided the right exposure also students learned a lot of things related to their subjects and had an exposure towards grid station along with the process of distribution of Electricity and proved to be a definite value addition in their professional knowledge of student.

YCET organized the industrial visit to Gladni Grid Station, Jammu

Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology (YCET) organize the industrial visit to Gladni Grid station, Narwal, Jammu for the students of 8th sem Electrical Engineering here today.
During the visit the students were briefed about the functioning of Wave Traps, Lightening Arresters, CT-PT, Insulators, Capacitors, & Transformers. Students had an intensive interaction with Er. Sumesh Sharma, Junior Engineer of the JKPDD where he apprised the students about the functioning of the control panels in the control room of the power grid explained in detail about the functioning of equipment in the switchyard.
The industrial visit was an amazing experience, provided the right exposure also students learned a lot of things related to their subjects and had an exposure towards grid station along with the process of distribution of Electricity and proved to be a definite value addition in their professional knowledge of students.

YCET student tops with Gold Medal+Elite certification in NPTEL Course

YCET Student Er. Sayika Nazir from Electrical department 8th sem scored as one of among the toppers with Gold medal+ Elite certificate of NPTEL course on “Forest and their Management” conducted by IIT Kanpur. The Science of Forestry and the management of forests have taken front seat as a mechanism of climate change mitigation. It is one of the few very effective measures available for the sequestration of atmospheric carbon. At the same time, management of forests provides access to tourism avenues, major and minor forest produce, food and water security for wildlife and also for people. In this course, we shall discuss the principles of forestry and silviculture

Such continuous learning is highly significant for the coming engineers to upgrade their skills towards the emerging interconnected technological fields. Management YCET, Chief Coordinator, Dean Academics and H.O.D Electrical department congratulate the student.

Department of Electrical Engineering, Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology (YCET) conducted an industrial visit of 3rd and 5th sem students, at Electrical Central Workshop Division,(JPDCL), Jammu

During the visit, the students were briefed by Er.Sachin Tickoo (AE) and Er. Pervez Ahmed (AEE). The students were briefed about the basic principle of working of transformers, the construction of the core assembly, the preparation of the winding of the Primary and secondary coils in the winding benches , assembling of the core and windings ,the process of drying of moisture in the heat treatment ovens, the oil filtration process , impregnation of heat treated transformer core and windings in the Transformer tank and pouring the filtered oil in the Transformer Tank , fitting of the HV and LV Bushing and testing of the Transformers in the Testing lab of the workshop where various tests like High voltage test, Open circuit test, Turns ratio test, Break down voltage test and double frequency withstand tests are performed before issuing the transformers to the various user Divisions of JPDCL. The students expressed satisfaction over the overall learning in the Electric Central Workshop Division JPDCL Jammu.

The industrial visit was an amazing experience, provided the right exposure and proved to be a definite value addition in their professional knowledge. Industrial visit to an organization of repute for practical insight and understanding with regard to the functioning of an industrial unit viz; Production, Operation and for getting corporate exposure.
