YCET organizes webinar on “Rise in Cyber Crime amid COVID-19”

The Department of Electrical Engineering of Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology ( YCET ) organizes a webinar on “Rise in Cyber Crime amid COVID-19” today i.e. on 3rd July 2021 for Electrical and Computer Engineering students. The session began with a welcome address by Er. Loveneesh Talwar, HoD (Electrical Engg. ).

The session was further followed by Er. Vikas Razdan is a certified cybercrime intervention officer, cybersecurity analyst, cyber warrior and also an associate member of national cyber safety and security standards and an active member of jkcyberyodha ( operation cybertimshel ) from J & K with a mission of creating awareness among all netizens about the crimes of the digital era.

He discussed Cyber Crime, the Emerging Technical Challenges, Privacy issues, Sextortion: Video Call Scam, Phishing and along with that he also emphasized on Be mindful of UPI Scam, One Ring Calling Scam, etc.

The students were fortunate that they got the chance to attend this session for increasing their knowledge and creative extravagance along with the expert. The guests remained highly commemorative of the efforts of the organizing Electrical Department, YCET for getting the best out of these opportunities, which are being provided under the good wishes of the YCET Management.

Prof. ( Dr. ) A. K. Srivastava, Director, YCET was also present and said that Cyber Crimes have increased during Covid-19 and motivated the students. The session ended with a vote of thanks by Er. Dinesh Gupta, HoD Computer Science & Engineering Department and also President IIC Cell YCET.

YCET organizes Faculty Development Programme on AI

Computer Science & Engineering Department of Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology in collaboration with Institutions Innovation Council ( IIC ), a MHRD- Govt of India Initiative organizes five days “Online Faculty Development Programme ( FDP )” on “Artificial Intelligence ( AI )” from 10th July to 14th July .The goal of AI includes learning, reasoning and perception.
The main objective of this FDP is to provide a unique opportunity to demonstrate the contributions of AI Techniques in manufacturing processes of today’s industries. The distinguished resource persons are Dr. Manish Kumar Jain, International Corporate Trainer, Dr. Rizwan Shaikh, Professor and Ex. Dean JSPM Group of Institutions, University of Pune, Dr. G. R. Kanaga Chidambaresan, PhD ( Information and Communication Engineering ) Chennai, Dr. R. Anand, Assistant Professor, Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru, Dr. N. Karthikeyan, Professor and HOD, Syed Ammal Engineering College Chennai. Lectures on the fields like Neural Networks, Deep Learning, Internet of Things, Block Chain and Augmented Reality will be delivered.
In this FDP 540 faculty members across the country e.g. J & K, Punjab, H.P., Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, U.P., West Bengal, Orissa, Rajasthan, Bihar etc. Faculty not only from India but also from Abrod (2 from Dhaka and 1 each from Muscat and Oman) are participating in this FDP. E-Certificates will be distributed to the participants.
Special Guest Er. Vivek Mahajan, Principal, Govt. Polytechnic, Ramban, Jammu in his inaugural address said that the new course should be a platform to introduce AI for everyone. Chief Guest Dr. Dipan Sahu, National Coordinator, IIC, in his keynote address said that there is an increasing need for intelligent and accurate decision-making across industries. This has led to an exponential growth in the adoption of AI and ML technologies. He also appreciated YCET team for conducting such a valuable Faculty Development Programme.

Mini Project presentation for 8th Semester Students

Department of Computer engineering and Information Technology under the program “Strive for Perfection” project “Feel The Heat” conducted Mini Project Presentation of 8th semester students of Computer Engineering and Information Technology department at the seminar hall of Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology.

The objective of the project is to inculcate technical knowledge to the students in order to make them industry ready.

There were 05 groups who gave the presentation and demonstrations of their respective projects to Mr.Sandeep Pandita, Head Strategic Planning & Operations, Jamwal Group of Educational Institutions (JGEI) and Er. Nidhi Jamwal, Administrative Secretary YCET.

Home Automation, Notesadda, Online Attendance App, Notice Board Web App and Y.C.E.T Feedback Web app were the various Projects which are made by the students.

Er. Dinesh Gupta, HOD Computer Engineering and Information Technology, Er. Robin Kumar Assistant Professor , faculty members and Guides of Various Projects of the department were present.

CSE & IT students appeared for SCILAB test

Spoken Tutorial Project of IIT Bombay organized the online test in Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology.

The test was conducted for the student of 8th semester of Information Technology and Computer Engineering on SCILAB in which 03 students from I.T department and 07students from Computer Engineering department qualified the test. Mr. Neeraj Kumar was the invigilator of the respective session.
