Spreading its wings towards global engineering innovation and modern trends, the Department of Applied Sciences of Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology (YCET) under IIC Cell organizes webinar by the eminent resource person Dr. Sandeep Arya, Assistant professor, Department of Physics, University of Jammu, on the topic “Semiconductors and their Innovation in Technology”.

In his talk, he discussed about current scenario of Semiconductors and their innovation in technology across the globe. He added that the Government of India recently approved a Rs 76,000-crore scheme to boost semiconductor and display manufacturing in the country to position India as a global hub for hi-tech production, and attract large chip makers.

The webinar was commenced with a welcome speech by Mr Rohit Gupta, Coordinator, Applied Sciences Department. Prof. ( Dr.) A. K. Srivastava, Director YCET motivated the students and said that manufacturing semiconductor devices which are used in microprocessors, computers etc is very costly and requires highly sophisticated R & D, wafer fabrication and burning process and therefore many specialized companies join hands to complete the process. Adding baseline to session, Dr. Rakesh Verma, HoD (Applied Sciences), added ‘the exposure to knowledge and modern trends proved many folds beneficial for the students who took this opportunity in the fullest to gain learnings from the speaker. Er Dinesh Gupta, Dean Academics and President of IIC cell, all HODs and other faculty members were also present in the session.
