Pre-Placement Activities at Student Development Centre

There are few more steps students need to climb before getting into the dream company to pursue a job. After the written test in the placement drive, the next level is to crack the group discussion. The session was arranged for 8th semester students where Group discussions were conducted, students were made aware about the tips to be followed in Interviews and groomed for learning out of experiences.

The objective is to stimulate reflective thinking through exchange and sharing of ideas
and enhance listening and communication skills.

Students were given the insight about how to crack the interview and groom his/her personality. The session included concepts of Facing Interviews, Facing Group Discussions, Professional Resume Writing, and Cracking Aptitude Exams.

Students from various branches joined the session enthusiastically and felt more confident as they walked out of the Student Development centre.

Department of Computer engineering and Information Technology under the program “Strive for Perfection” project “Feel The Heat” conducted Mini Project Presentation of 8th semester students of Computer Engineering and Information Technology department at the seminar hall of Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology.

The objective of the project is to inculcate technical knowledge to the students in order to make them industry ready.

There were 05 groups who gave the presentation and demonstrations of their respective projects to Mr.Sandeep Pandita, Head Strategic Planning & Operations, Jamwal Group of Educational Institutions (JGEI) and Er. Nidhi Jamwal, Administrative Secretary YCET.

Home Automation, Notesadda, Online Attendance App, Notice Board Web App and Y.C.E.T Feedback Web app were the various Projects which are made by the students.

Er. Dinesh Gupta, HOD Computer Engineering and Information Technology, Er. Robin Kumar Assistant Professor , faculty members and Guides of Various Projects of the department were present.

Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology (YCET) inaugurated Student Development Centre within their Campus.

The centre is inaugurated on 18th of April 2019 which is home to a variety of services specially designed to meet the needs of graduate students on campus and outside. The Student Development Centre (SDC)’s programs are designed to ensure proper balance between three major areas of student development: Academic, Career & Personal/social.

The centre was inaugurated by the students of various departments along with Mr. Sandeep Pandita, Head-Strategic Planning and Operations, JGEI.

The Mission of this Program is to prepare students to become capable, responsible, and contributing citizens. The program is designed to help all students develop their educational, social, emotional, career, and Personal strengths.

The student Development centre has predominantly been introduced in order to further strengthening the students Confidence and Capability. The launch boosted the confidence level among engineering students wherein they felt grateful towards the management for this initiative.

The event also witnessed the presence of Prof. Arvind Dewangan, Director YCET along with H.O.D’s and faculty members of various departments.

Both the speakers briefed the students about the role & skills required for a core network engineer & ensure students to stay relevant with skill sets needed for the adoption of next generation technologies. The objectives of the session were to explain the importance of CCNA, help students understand its practical view & related further opportunities. They emphasized that CCNA is virtually a gateway to networking & is a prerequisite to other courses such as CCNP. The speaker further explained concepts like TCP/IP, IP Addressing & Subnetting, Routing Information Protocol (RIP), Routing Information Protocol V2 (RIPv2), etc.

Practical knowledge & demonstration about Router, Hub, classes & versions of IP. The session helped students gain clarity & confidence over networking concepts studied in the curriculum along with the knowledge about the same with reference to career prospects. Students were very satisfied with the session.

Er. Dinesh Gupta, Head of the Department of Computer Science Engineering & Information Technology), and faculty members from the Department were also present during the guest lecture. The mementoes were presented to the resource persons by the HOD.

Department of Civil Engineering organised field visit to the Brick kiln on 10th April’ 2019 for the students of 4th semester.

The visit was organised for students to access and expose the students to the complete process of manufacturing of Bricks and to make them aware about how work is executed on site.

Er. Vinod, Er. Sarvdaman Sharma, Er.Shivang Sharma and Er.Ankush (Asst Professors, Deptt of Civil) under guidance of Er Rajnish Magotra (HOD, civil department) planned and coordinated the visit.

The students interacted with the site in-charge of Brick kiln and gained knowledge about how Brick kiln works. This interaction created an enthusiasm among students and boosted their confidence.
