To make the students know about the basics of networking & its essentials Department of Computer Engineering & Information Technology of Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology (YCET) organized an Corporate extension lecture on “Networking CCNA, Routers & its Installation” for the students of 6th & 8th semester of Computer Engineering & Information Technology Engineering. The lecture was delivered by Er. Rahul Jamwal Operational Manager & Er. Yudvir Singh Project Engineer from Wipro.

Both the speakers briefed the students about the role & skills required for a core network engineer & ensure students to stay relevant with skill sets needed for the adoption of next generation technologies. The objectives of the session were to explain the importance of CCNA, help students understand its practical view & related further opportunities. They emphasized that CCNA is virtually a gateway to networking & is a prerequisite to other courses such as CCNP. The speaker further explained concepts like TCP/IP, IP Addressing & Subnetting, Routing Information Protocol (RIP), Routing Information Protocol V2 (RIPv2), etc.

Practical knowledge & demonstration about Router, Hub, classes & versions of IP. The session helped students gain clarity & confidence over networking concepts studied in the curriculum along with the knowledge about the same with reference to career prospects. Students were very satisfied with the session.

Er. Dinesh Gupta, Head of the Department of Computer Science Engineering & Information Technology), and faculty members from the Department were also present during the guest lecture. The mementoes were presented to the resource persons by the HOD.
