To raise awareness of the impact of how patents, copyright, trademarks, and design affect our daily life, the Department of Applied Sciences under the IIC cell of YCET, organized an ‘Essay Writing Competition’ on the eve of “World Intellectual Property Rights Day’. Each year the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) celebrates ‘World Intellectual Property Day’ to discuss the role that intellectual property (IP) rights play in encouraging innovation and creativity. In the competition, students displayed their creative Writing skills on the topic “World Intellectual Property Rights Day”. It was overwhelming to see the level of enthusiasm & zeal in the participants. The competition witnessed several strong ideas & messages on Intellectual Property Rights, thereby fulfilling the objective of this competition. Dr. Rakesh Verma, HoD Department of Applied Sciences, addressed the participants & informed them about the assessment criteria like a relevance to the topic, originality, impact of the message, creativity, and overall presentation. The judge of the event Ms. Sheetal Sharma evaluated the material written by students. President of the IIC Cell of YCET, Er Dinesh Gupta, motivated the students to develop the three I’s i.e. Inquiry, Innovation, and Impact in their daily life activities. Er. B.R. Verma appreciated the efforts of the students and the department for making the event successful. The event was coordinated by Mr. Rohit Gupta and Ms. Vaishali Sharma.

The First position was bagged by Mr. Nagesh Raina of 1st semester from the Civil Engineering Department, the Second Position was bagged by Ms. Taniya Kotwal of 1st semester from the CSE Department and the Third Position was bagged by Mr. Mohd. Imran of 1st semester of CSE Department.
