Webinar on “Energy Conservation” by YCET Faculty

Spreading its wings towards global engineering innovation and modern trends, Er. Loveneesh Talwar, HoD ( Electrical Engg. ), YCET was invited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology ( IET ), Kanyakumari Local Network as a Guest Speaker on 16 January, 2021 on “Energy Conservation” in domestic sector.

Energy conservation is the effort made to reduce the consumption of energy by using less energy service. This can be achieved either by using energy more efficiently or by reducing the amount of service used. Energy conservation is a part of the concept of Eco-sufficiency. Energy is of two types, Conventional and Non-conventional. But as the time passes, the generation rate of electricity is very low compared to consumption rate. Due to which we are focusing on non conventional resources. We can conserve energy by using two methods one is by reducing the use of energy efficient devices and secondly by using energy optimum techniques to conserve energy. He also explained one of his case studies in which he represented how to conserve energy in domestic sector by using 4 Energy Conservation Methods and its payback period.

At the end, Er. Lovneesh Talwar thanked Dr. Nazar Ali, Associate Professor for inviting him and giving opportunity to deliver guest lecture. The event was adorned by dignitaries and eminent personalities Dr. S. Joseph Jawhar, Chairman, Kanayakumari Local Network and Dr. M. Marsaline Beno, Secretary, Kanayakumari Local Network. The exposure to knowledge and modern trends proved many folds beneficial for those who availed this opportunity in the fullest. He also mentioned the immense gratitude for the management of YCET and for Dr. A.K. Srivastava, Director, YCET.
