YCET organizes webinar on GATE 2021

The Department of Electrical Engineering, Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology ( YCET ) organizes a webinar regarding GATE 2021 preparation on Power Electronics for 7th sem. electrical engineering students on 28th Jan., 21.

Power Electronics is the applications of solid state electronics to the control and conversion of electric power. The first high power electronic devices were mercury arc. In modern systems, the conversion is performed using semi conductor switching devices such as Diode, Thyristors and Power Transistor such as Power MOSFET and IGBT. In contrast to electronic systems concerned with transmission and processing of signals and data, in power electronics substantial amounts of electrical energy is processed.

The lecture was delivered by Dr. Nazar Ali, Associate Professor, Department of EEE, Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The session began with welcome address by Er Loveneesh Talwar, HoD ( Electrical Engineering ). Dr. Nazar Ali is expert in the field of Power Electronics. He briefed the students about the important basics and relevant questions and topics of Power Electronics which is important regarding GATE 2021. He explained how to strategise and attempt the GATE so as to score good marks in examination. He also discussed previous years question papers.

The students were fortunate to get the chance to attend this session for increasing their knowledge and experience along with the expert from the concerned field.
